Paul Young

Paul Young is an internationally recognized keynote and  motivational speaker. He also has considerable experience as a panelist, seminar participant, group leader, and consultant on disability issues. Paul is the former chair of the Council of Canadians with Disabilities. He founded People First of Nova Scotia, and was a founding member of People First of Canada, and the former President of the national organization.

During his youth, Paul Young was labelled "mentally challenged". He spent the early part of his adult life in a sheltered workshop. Thanks to his determination, and with the support of key people, Paul advanced from a part time position at a private radio station to a full time career with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation as an audio technician. Since then he married, bought and paid for his home, learned to drive, and has completed his high school education at night. Paul left the CBC in 1998 and started Young & Associates. He lives in Sydney,  Nova Scotia with his wife Marilyn.
